METAL DUNGEON FONT

OK here's how it happened: my band METAL DUNGEON recorded a cd and it needed a cover. Since METAL DUNGEON is a Maurizio Bianchi/MB tribute band, I wanted the cover to look like an MB album. I made a "MD" stencil in the same style as the "MB" rubber stamp that is used on a lot of MB releases. A few years later when METAL DUNGEON recorded solo albums, I needed to write our full names for the cover. I decided to make a complete alphabet using the font "rules" that were contained within those original two letters. That's it!!!

I THINK I COPIED OFF MATISSE

When I was at the MOMA in NYC in mid-May 2007 I saw this painting. Then I realized that I must have copied off of it on the painting below. Oop's!!! I like mine but I gotta admit that Matisse is better.

The great illustrator and writer from UK was in Detroit in September! He was visiting Niagara and The Colonel??? We went to the DIA, Pegasus, and Peoples Records. Then he drew me a picture!!!

Cancer is getting way too popular!!! Everybody knows someone that has died or is dying of cancer. After our friend Dave McGlasson died of cancer earlier this year WINDY & CARL at STORMY RECORDS decided to have a wake/cancer benefit concert in his honor. Featuring WINDY & CARL, ODD CLOUDS and METAL DUNGEON, all proceeds go directly to the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY. Minimum donation $5.00 please.

SCOTT HOCKING artshow at HILBERRY GALLERY in Ferndale, Michigan

SCOTT HOCKING has had artshows all over the world including THE DETROIT INSTITUTE OF ARTS and the SUZANNE HILBERRY GALLERY. When he asked me to be in his latest show I said "cool!". So then he gave me a BEAVER and told me to paint it up real nice, like one of those public art projects that are happening all over the USA. You know the ones where they give you a big fiberglass cow or some other animal and they ask you to paint it in your style to make it look nice so they can display it on the street??? Well Scott Hocking decided to buy a bunch of animals with his own money at the real-fiberglass-animals-store then he "fixed-them-up" and then he gave them to a bunch of artists to paint. I don't know what the show is called but it sure sounds fun!!! So here's my BEAVER I just got, it's caught in a trap so I'm gonna paint it like an ICE CREAM SUNDAE!!! Then JIM STORM taught me about BONDO so I made a CHERRY for the top!!! It's almost done!!!

Calling all campers!!! Since 1995 TIME STEREO and PRINCESS DRAGONMOM have teamed-up every summer to bring NOISE CAMP to all the kids in Detroit!!! This year we are so excited to be holding this annual electro-acoustic celebration at THE CONTEMPORARY ART INSTITUTE OF DETROIT!!! CPOP was great (8 years straight!) but we really wanted to have a real campfire (CAID has a fire-pit) and a cool NOISE CAMP artshow in the trailer (CAID has an outdoor gallery). Thanks for all the good times CPOP!!! There will be something for everyone this year at NOISE CAMP!!! Have a snack at the RAW FOODS HUT. Make something nice at the ARTS&CRAFTS TABLE. Kids will love getting a NOISE CAMP haircut, adults will love taking a drink from the HOLLOW LOG or getting FIRST-AID from the NOISE CAMP NURSES (this year Sarah & Sarah from WOUND). And everyone will love the harsh electronic noise coming from PRINCESS DRAGONMOM'S tent at midnite!!!
